Trent Kim

Trent Kim is a Glasgow (Scotland) based light artist and academic. He is currently the programme leader of BA (Hons) Digital Art & Design at University of the West of Scotland and he is pursuing his MPhil/PhD research on the art of Lumia at the Royal College of Art. His practice and research revisit the historical Lumia practices by Thomas Wilfred [b.1889, d.1968] and explore dimensions of our relationship to light through his digitally enhanced phenomenological investigations. His works have been seen in the UK, USA and South Korea across galleries and theatres, he guest-lectures at other universities on Lumia, abstraction and phenomenology in the UK and he also organises LUMIA | Symposium annually.
