Esther Torelló studied at Eina Centre Universitari de Disseny i Art of Barcelona. Since then her activities have been focused on design, image, and communication. Esther worked as a producer at different advertising agencies, and was responsible for Identity and Design of the Paralympic Games in the Barcelona 92 Olympic Organizing Committee, and has developed an intense work as free-lance for various companies in the publishing world.

Esther Torelló was the publisher and editor of IDL magazine – Informaciones de Luz- for 13 years and currently is the founding of Lightecture, a magazine designed for all those who are passionate about the infinite possibilities that light brings in the interior and exterior spaces. She is also responsible for press and communication of the Spanish Professional Association of Lighting Designers -APDI- and ambassador in Spain of Women in Lighting, a digital platform for women working in the architectural lighting industry to promote their passion and achievements, narrate their career paths and goals, celebrate their work, and highlight their profile in the lighting community.

As Esther likes to say, “We’ve made amazing progress towards building a world where we are truly free to pursue our dreams. But we still have a long way to go. This is the reason, I am part of the Women in Lighting and The feminine language of light projects and, because I am convinced that every single one of us has an important role to play in order to move us closer to recognition and equality in our social and professional lives”.
