Jan Goderis is a Belgium-based designer whose work blends architecture, interior design, furniture, lighting, and object design into a thoughtful and expressive language. He continues to explore the delicate balance between material, craftsmanship, and contemporary technology.
Driven by a lifelong passion for design, he founded studio ‘Jan Goderis Design Lab’; in 2021 to devote himself fully to the creation and development of distinctive design projects. Throughout his 35-year career, Jan has cultivated an approach that merges conceptual clarity with refined craftsmanship, resulting in work that is both precise and emotionally engaging. His portfolio spans private residences, public spaces, and cultural restorations—most notably the renovation of the Godfried heritage warehouse in Antwerp, realized with DMT Architects for the offices of fashion designer Dries Van Noten. Driven by a constant search for innovation, Jan now focuses on creating timeless furniture, lighting, and objects that balance form, function, and clarity in design.
The ecological aspect plays an essential role in his designs, reflecting a sincere respect for materials, tradition, and sustainability.
His designs have earned international recognitions, including Interieur Kortrijk (Belgium), A’Design Awards (Italy), LIT Lighting Design Awards (Switzerland), Prize Designs for Modern Furniture + Lighting (US), SIT Design Awards (Switzerland), IDA Design Awards (US), the Good Design Award (US), and others.
Jan also contributes to the global design community as a jury member and was recently listed by the Designers Accreditation Council (DAC) among the world’s leading designers for 2025.
