Adele Locke

MINT Lighting Design / Founder & Principal Designer

Adele Locke is the Founder and Principal Designer at MINT Lighting Design, an independent Australian lighting design practice specialising in residential architecture. With over two decades of experience, Adele has led lighting design for more than 1,100 homes and numerous commercial projects, consistently advocating for light that enhances the way people live and feel in their spaces.

A passionate educator and mentor, Adele is known for her ability to translate complex lighting concepts into practical, human-centred outcomes. In 2019, she launched the MINT Light School — a public education initiative aimed at empowering homeowners and professionals alike with a deeper understanding of light.

Adele has served in multiple leadership roles within the lighting industry, including as the first female and youngest President of the Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand (IESANZ). She is also a respected speaker and guest lecturer, regularly presenting at institutions such as RMIT, Billy Blue College of Design, and Gordon TAFE.

Through her design practice, public speaking, and industry contributions, Adele continues to champion the thoughtful use of light as both an emotional and architectural medium.
