Entry Description

The city of Barcelona has been rebuilding urban spaces in favor of nature and green areas providing positive changes to a highly congested environment. The MC Smart Duty architects worked on a planting proposal that accomplished two basic goals: to provide new green areas to the city and to solve the lack of inter-level connection on the neighborhood in a natural and accessible way.
The lighting proposal follows this urbanistic idea. The main goals were to show the new green areas, emphasize the vertical plane and ensure adequate lighting levels to make the neighbors feel safe and the limits, volumes and textures perceptible.

As the first line of lighting, a set of architectural and urban elements provides the necessary regulatory levels while being an easy maintenance installation. On the second, more visual and decorative help texture shapes and avoid black spaces. The objective of giving the park a very natural reading for the user was completely achieved. A point-to-point control system was proposed to have full control in order to adapt the lighting levels in every area taking into account the typology and the time use of each space.
