Entry Description

Nulty worked with Dimorestudio to create the lighting for Browns’ new flagship store on 39 Brook Street, a Grade II* listed building in the heart of London’s designer shopping district. The lighting scheme is respectful but intelligent, preserving the architectural legacy of the building whilst offering contemporary functionality. Nulty integrated lighting into bespoke joinery and frameworks to preserve the architectural details of iconic spaces such as the ‘Yellow Room’. Lighting is integrated within a contemporary metallic framework and can be modified from bright and targeted to illuminate merchandise, to focused on the centre of the space to create a more atmospheric event experience. The four-storey boutique has an eccentric floor plan, so the lighting design adapts to the variations in size and style with a mix of integrated lighting in hanging rails, shelving, and niches. Elsewhere in the third floor VIP space, light boxes grace the ceiling in changing rooms, creating dynamic and functional illumination. To further enhance the private retail journey, VIP clients can also select different lighting scenes via interactive touchscreen mirrors.
