Entry Description

Frontier is a client facing hybrid of laboratory, office and collaboration space. The aesthetic is contemporary, urban, soft and welcoming, with an emphasis on biophilia. The foyer has an informal arrangement of circular pendants backed up by near invisible colour tuneable white linears integrated within the exposed services and soft acoustic panels. Lighting is integrated into the planter wall, bar, counters and shelving and gives an appropriate emphasis to signage and ‘soto voce’ branding.
Good daylight at periphery of a deep plan office needed colour tuneable lighting and programming cycles integrated with existing control. A 4.8m touch-enabled tech theatre uses linear (RGBW) for soft light for facial modelling.
Vertical illumination adds visual interest and brightness. A variety of techniques were used, including a PCB wall light feature. Contemporary pendants and finishes match the quality of the kitchen materials, with integrated details for wall wash and plants. A dynamic feature completely transforms a dim corridor with no natural light into an exciting destination. Different scenes slowly morph into one another each time someone passes through; a living piece of art.
