Entry Description

The award-winning Chef Tyson Cole’s Uchi restaurant opened its new location in Wynwood area of Miami, known for its art galleries, antique shops, eclectic bars and restaurants.

This sushi restaurant features organic elements, such as walnut wood, concrete, metal and rope, inspired by the hand-crafted tradition of Japan. Our lighting design intent was to highlight the warmth and earthy texture of these elements. We used linear cove grazer fixtures to accentuate the perimeter drapery, wall textures and woven wall hangings. The curved feature wall at the entrance, made of brick handwoven with rope, is enhanced by the modular encapsulated LED system. Square trimless downlights blend effortlessly into Tectum acoustic ceiling. The natural and sustainable design elements combined with soft accent lighting transport the patrons of the restaurant to oriental environment, evoking the sense of calm, peace and relaxation.
