Entry DescriptionUdeta is a new banquet hall addition to an existing 5-star luxury resort. It includes an L-shaped 3,600SF Pre-Function Hall that wraps around 8,400SF Ballroom with a Live Kitchen at one end. Cohering with the architecture, the lighting for the Pre-Function Hall is conceived to enhance the inside-outside experience. The concrete slab is floated through uniform uplighting, and inner walls are celebrated with light, collectively transforming the space into a luminous box. A bespoke brass pendant, referring the classic half-chrome incandescent bulb, was conceived and designed by the lighting designer to provide the uplighting of interior slab. The ceiling of Ballroom was envisioned by lighting designer as a field of luminous volumes floating in black void. To realize this, a bespoke dome pendant with tapered-in shape was specifically designed, that included a custom light source consisting of individually-addressable LED module providing tunable-white and color-changing light, enclosed within a translucent globe. Warm-white lighting is achieved on walls and tables even in the color mode for ceiling. DMX system for domes and DALI system for rest were provided for full range of control.
