Entry Description

This Spanish restaurant serves shellfish dishes as main menu. It is located on the upper floor of a newly building in Shibuya.
The design identity comes from the “Shellfish”. We converted the inspiration to the materials, patterns and forms. What is more, by enhancing the details, referring the culture from the seaside region of Spain, Catalonia. We have generated an extraordinary atmosphere, so-called the trinity of Shellfish, Spain and the Sea.

No two shellfish here are alike, how they look when they are accumulated, so we have also focused from the visual appearance side as well as from the aspect of how it would be like to be a shellfish itself. One good result is the ceiling. We attempted to depict this imagined world by utilizing lustrous tiles and mirrors to describe when looking up from the ocean where the shellfish inhabit: the wavering water surface and refraction of the light.

In order to suitably match the scenery city view the restaurant, adopted angled mirrors and the sea anemones resembling lightings with rich in decorative steel ornaments. These technical lightings have blended well them to bring necessary Spain Modernismo architecture style-like creation.
