Entry DescriptionNEXA redefines the classic desk lamp through mechanical precision, modular flexibility, and sustainable innovation.
It is a modular desk lamp that moves on three axes, allowing full control over angle, height, and light range according to the user’s needs. Inspired by the worlds of 3D modeling and CNC machining, its design highlights the mechanical structure and exposed joints as aesthetic elements, creating a strong connection between engineering and form.
The structure is built from black aluminum rods originally intended for 3D printers, while the base, lamp head, and profile endings were produced using ABS 3D printing. At the center of the lamp lies a CNC - machined aluminum wheel plate, which enables the multi - axis movement system - the unique feature that provides maximum flexibility and precise operation.
At the end of the horizontal arm, a compact lighting head integrates three LEDs, delivering focused illumination that reduces eye strain, long durability for extended use, and low energy consumption. By combining aluminum profiles, 3D printing, and CNC machining, NEXA offers a contemporary interpretation of a familiar object, bridging engineering precision, design innovation, and everyday functionality.
Sustainability ApproachNEXA integrates environmental innovation with advanced manufacturing. The body of the lamp is made from recyclable aluminum, while the base, lamp head, and profile endings are produced from ABS through 3D printing, a process that reduces material waste and allows reuse of parts. The CNC-machined aluminum wheel plate is also fully recyclable, ensuring that every component of the lamp can re-enter the material cycle at the end of its life.
The use of three long-lasting, energy-efficient LEDs minimizes replacement and significantly reduces waste, while providing focused light that lowers overall energy consumption compared to general lighting. Its modular construction allows for easy disassembly, repair, and reuse of components, making NEXA not only a functional and durable desk lamp but also a demonstration of how sustainable practices and design innovation can coexist in everyday objects.
