Entry DescriptionHigienópolis House is one of São Paulo’s architectural landmarks. Built between 1927 and 1939, it was inspired by 19th-century French palaces. Listed as a historic heritage site since 1994 by both CONPRESP (municipal level) and CONDEPHAAT (state level), the mansion preserves in its architecture nearly a century of the city’s memory.
The challenge of the lighting design was to balance the mansion’s historical value with the contemporary demands of its current use — from intimate dinners to weddings, corporate gatherings, and large-scale events. The adopted solutions sought to integrate light and architecture without breaking with history, yet without resorting to a mere reproduction of the past. The lighting highlights the grandeur of the façade and the lush garden, which host most of the celebrations. A variety of settings makes it possible to transform the atmosphere according to the occasion, ensuring unique experiences for each event. To protect the restoration, the electrical infrastructure was designed to avoid running large cables through the original ceilings and walls. Automation was implemented in a tailored way: a remote system that allows discreet and precise control. The result is a lighting language that honors the memory of the place while projecting the mansion into the present, combining versatility, sophistication and technology.
