Entry DescriptionMolfar is a restaurant where light becomes the central element of the interior and a symbol of Ukrainian craftsmanship. For this project, we created two unique light-glass sculptures crafted in our glassblowing workshop.
The key principles of our work: accent lighting on vertical surfaces and metal details to create a glow, highlighting wood textures, and using biodynamic lighting that changes the atmosphere throughout the day. Brass elements are revealed by a narrow amber beam, appearing to shine from within.
The restrooms feature a special highlight: shadow-casting luminaires on the ceiling create patterns that enhance Molfar’s mystical atmosphere.
The most striking element is the bespoke light-glass chandelier, born from the symbolism of the molfar — a fusion of mirrors, “fire,” and botanical motifs. Mirror fragments at different angles produce multiple reflections of fiery elements, while amber tints emphasize textures of herbs, smoke, and flame.
The second centerpiece is a caustic light sculpture shaped like a cigar, with two light sources that generate dynamic effects of smoke and waves across walls and ceiling.
All luminaires were custom-designed exclusively for this project, and the lighting system was integrated into our Cloud Control platform, enabling synchronization of all fixtures and remote control of the restaurant’s atmosphere.
