Entry DescriptionThe Aphrodite Collection combines classicism and innovation, reinterpreting the flowing drapery of ancient statues into luminous sculptural forms, representing a celebration of beauty that becomes light and an ode to art that crosses time.
Blending classical sculptural forms, medieval glassmaking techniques, and cutting-edge binder-jetting 3D printing technology - the only process of its kind in Europe - Aphrodite Collection truly embodies a timeless essence capable of transcending eras.
Nevertheless, what truly makes these pieces unique is the traditional Venetian crafting technique of Conteria, a heritage art practice currently protected by UNESCO. We chose this local method not only for its exceptional aesthetic impact, but also to contribute to its preservation, as we are currently the sole practitioners maintaining this unique craftsmanship.
Aphrodite is our personal tribute to the cultural heritage of our region—reimagined and elevated, into a true symbol of style that enhances and transforms any surrounding environment.
Sustainability ApproachThis Collection used LED lights for efficiency.
The small dimension of the glass beads allows using recycled glass with no impact on brightness and clarity. The thread is silk, a natural fiber with almost no waste (the sub-products are used in other industries). It needs mulberries grown with no pesticides, keeping intact the ecosystem and attenuating the impact of CO2 (for every kg of silk produced 732 kg of CO2 are retained).
The smallest and most complex components are made with stainless steel 3D printing technology: our binder-jetting technology is extremely precise (1/1000 mm) and allows for an overall saving of emissions of approximately 40% compared to traditional production techniques. The selective binder glues only the steel powder useful to the component, eliminating all the waste and its recycling typical of traditional processes.
Company DescriptionDeeply rooted in the Venetian territory by vocation, the brand Patrizia Volpato finds its origins in the artisan company founded in 1980 and is focused on the production of high-quality decorative design lamps. Forty years after its first steps, while still referring to the ancient art of blown glass typical of the island of Murano, Patrizia Volpato has been able to combine tradition and modernity in an elegant mix of different styles.
