Entry DescriptionLight is more than illumination. It defines how we work and how we feel. Elix: Experiential Lighting Interaction – eXploration is an AI Companion Lighting Robot that reimagines light as an interactive presence. At its core is a 6-axis robotic arm, with AI vision, real-time activity recognition, and ambient sensing. This system enables precise light placement that moves with users, ensuring optimal task illumination across five modes: reading, writing, creativity, digital devices, and video conference.
A proprietary eye-care engine delivers a simulated daylight cycle condensed into five minutes, promoting comfort and restoring focus during breaks. Emotional Lighting Mode responds to emotion using AI-driven facial and behavioral analysis, translating it into expressive Light × Motion × Sound. Color gradients, synchronised motion, and ambient audio create a lighting narrative that reflects emotional states.
The robot’s behavior is shaped by an anthropomorphic motion library and multimodal interaction: it follows gestures, responds to touch, and expresses attention through posture. Exploration mode via app allows users to remotely engage with their space or interact playfully with pets. This holistic experience defines Experiential Lighting Interaction, a new paradigm where lighting adapts not only to vision, but to emotion, cognition, and movement.

Sustainability ApproachElix promotes well-being and efficiency through intelligent lighting. Its light-as-a-service model uses AI to deliver light only when needed, with tracking and ambient sensing to reduce energy use. A five-minute daylight simulation supports visual comfort without high-output strain.
Emotional Lighting Mode enhances mental wellness by sensing mood and responding with expressive Light × Motion × Sound, encouraging rest, calm, and emotional awareness.
Built for longevity, Elix features a replaceable lamp head and upgradable software to reduce waste. Core components are serviceable, and energy use is measured through real duty cycles. Elix supports SDG 3 (Well-being) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption) by uniting emotional care with sustainable performance.
