Entry Description

Archanova is a luminous installation inspired by the soaring domes and intricate geometry of Iranian mosques, intertwined with the spiral paths of distant galaxies. Its structure is formed from clear acrylic tubes, softly sandblasted inside to diffuse the light, resting on a base of dark natural wood that balances warmth and modern clarity. The arcs and twisting lines recall both celestial movement and Islamic patterns, drawing the eye into endless orbits of light. Hidden LEDs at the foundation send light upward, creating shimmering contrasts and moments of brilliance that fade into a gentle glow, like the quiet breath of a galaxy. Archanova stands as a bridge between tradition and the future, guiding viewers on a poetic journey between earth and sky.
Sustainability Approach

Archanova was created with sustainability at the heart of its design. The wooden base is made from a natural, renewable material, while the acrylic tubes, although synthetic, are durable, long-lasting, and recyclable. The installation is illuminated with energy-efficient LEDs, which significantly reduce energy use and minimize carbon footprint compared to conventional light sources. Its modular structure allows the work to be easily transported and reinstalled in different settings, extending its life and avoiding the waste associated with one-off constructions. Beyond materials and energy efficiency, Archanova also supports cultural sustainability by reinterpreting traditional Islamic geometry in a contemporary form, bridging heritage and innovation in a single poetic expression.
