Entry DescriptionDewlight 01 is a lighting fixture inspired by the natural formation of morning dew on spider webs. What is often seen as dark and unsettling, such as the spider and its threads, transforms with the arrival of dew and light into a vision of delicacy and order. Dewlight 01 captures this contrast between visual fragility and geometric precision, enhanced by an ultrasonic cold-mist system that symbolically recreates the humidity behind dew and offers users a sensory link to nature.
The body consists of three independent components: a metal frame, a central glass lighting element, and an ultrasonic cold-mist system. The spiral, semi-enclosed form is designed to resemble how dew appears caught in a web, while the central glass sphere represents the dew drop itself. Viewed from different angles, the structure reveals varying shapes, reflecting the layered and shifting geometry of a real spider web.
The integrated mist system simulates the humidity conditions that cause dew to form at dawn. It enhances the sensory experience while contributing to indoor air quality. A motorized pulley mechanism, housed in the ceiling-mounted casing, allows the user to adjust height and access the lighting and mist systems easily for maintenance.

Sustainability ApproachDewlight 01 approaches sustainability as a continuous process rooted in natural observation. Inspired by the formation of dew on spider webs, the design encourages awareness of environmental systems. It incorporates energy-efficient LED lighting and an ultrasonic mist feature that mimics atmospheric humidity while supporting indoor comfort. The fixture is composed of three modular parts: the frame, lighting core, and mist unit. Each designed for independent access, repair, or replacement. This extends product life and reduces material waste. The metal body is fully recyclable. By focusing on repairability, efficiency, and sensory engagement, Dewlight 01 supports responsible design without claiming absolute sustainability. It reflects an evolving commitment to climate action and resource-conscious thinking.
