Entry DescriptionIn the collection, it was decided to combine cultural heritage, the search for the original form and functionality. The main artistic language is the association with ancient craft, namely knitting, is one of the most ancient types of decorative art. It takes its roots in the era of antiquity. The metal construction of the floor lamp resembles the interweaving of spokes during the knitting process, and the LED flexible cord resembles woolen threads. In the process of artistic search, a unique shape of the lamp was found, which was combined with laconic engineering solutions, thanks to which the floor lamp was devoid of visual noise and retained a laconic silhouette. Due to its standard height and the location of the LED cord at the top of the floor lamp, the lamp creates soft functional lighting. This lamp can be used for reading, work and leisure.
Sustainability ApproachThe main design principle of the floor lamp is the ability to break the lamp into a large number of elements and stability on the floor at low weight. To comply with the first principle, all elements of the lamp were made collapsible. Metal elements are packed like in a game of Tetris and save space, the LED flexible cord coils into a spiral. This creates minimal packaging sizes to save materials for packaging and transportation resources, since transportation is a very harmful process for the environment. Lightweight materials and a stable luminaire design were also chosen. The metal pipes are hollow and the LED cord is very lightweight. Due to the low weight of the lamp, there is also a decrease in the cost of resources for the transportation of goods. And most importantly, a minimum amount of metal is used to create a product, which reduces the harm from production to the environment.
