Entry Description

Light is the primary element shaping the mood of an interior. Lume embraces leather in an elegant interplay of textures and materials, blending aesthetics and function in a balanced design that enhances any space with its refined presence.

Designed by Filippo Mambretti for Enrico Pellizzoni, Lume features a minimalist yet organic leather lampshade, framing a linear LED light concealed behind a milk-white glass diffuser. This ensures a soft, uniform glow that enhances the ambiance while maintaining visual comfort.

The unique shade design, characterized by alternating cuts, allows even light diffusion on both sides. These cuts serve as both openings for direct illumination and textural elements that modulate brightness, softening and warming the light through reflection on the leather.

Available in different shapes and colors, the lampshade is easily interchangeable, enabling customization over time. This flexibility enhances both personal expression and sustainability, optimizing industrial and commercial processes related to production, logistics, and sales, making Lume a timeless and adaptable lighting solution.
Sustainability Approach

Lume is a lamp designed with a strong commitment to sustainability. Its metal and glass structure uses standard components already available on the market, avoiding the need for custom molds and supplies, which would result in high costs and significant environmental impact due to production waste. The use of industrial metal tubing and glass minimizes pollution and optimizes manufacturing processes, reducing unnecessary waste.

The leather and eco-leather lampshade is made exclusively from production scraps left over from the creation of other furniture pieces by the company, ensuring efficient resource reuse. This approach not only cuts waste but also makes Lume a model of responsible, circular design with minimal industrial and environmental impact.
