Entry DescriptionEos is an ambient light installation designed for galleries and exhibition spaces. Inspired by the first light of dawn, it transforms light, air, and fabric into a sculptural experience that feels alive. Rather than functioning as a lamp, Eos acts as an environmen an artwork that breathes, reacts, and surrounds its audience with shifting light and motion. At its core, Eos is built like a branching tree form. A powder-coated steel base anchors the piece, while copper and bronze rods extend upward and outward, carrying clusters of soft silicone diffusers. Each diffuser houses an LED node, glowing with warm white light. Around the branches, translucent recycled organza fabric is draped over a lightweight PETG rib structure, forming cloud-like veils that catch and scatter the light. Hidden silent micro-fans gently move the fabric, so the sculpture always appears to be in motion, as if alive. The LEDs are fully addressable, allowing dynamic light patterns. The system includes different modes: Breath Mod: the entire sculpture glows in a slow rhythm, imitating natural breathing.
Drift Mode algorithmic patterns of light flow across the structure like moving mist. Gust Mode: when visitors approach, motion sensors trigger waves of light that travel through the branches. The system is controlled by an ESP32/WLED controller with DMX/Art-Net compatibility.
Sustainability ApproachStructure: Copper/bronze rods, powder-coated steel base.
Light: ~430 high-CRI LEDs in platinum-cured silicone diffusers.
Fabric: Recycled organza (fire-retardant, translucent).
Support: PETG ribs and stainless spring wire for lightweight textile forms.
Output: 2,000–6,000 lumens (adjustable).
Power: 24V SELV, Max. 150W.
Sensors: Time-of-Flight and mmWave.
Sustainability: The use of recycled textiles, modular design, and recyclable metals ensures Eos is both environmentally responsible and long-lasting. Energy consumption is kept low with efficient LEDs and low-voltage systems. Eos invites audiences into an atmospheric space where light behaves like a living presence breathing, drifting, and reacting. It transforms exhibitions into poetic environments that feel both meditative and interactive, making dawn tangible inside a gallery.
