Entry Description

Shanghai Baoshan Changtan Crystal Concert Hall, with a floor area of 12,000 m², is a comprehensive cultural venue integrating music, cultural exchange, and art exhibitions. It houses 1,027 seats and a stage for a 100-member symphony orchestra. Its refined acoustic design suits classical music while also meeting the needs of modern concerts, musicals, and plays. The project was created by a multidisciplinary team in architecture, interiors, acoustics, and lighting, ensuring integrated effects. Lighting design follows the audience’s journey, with carefully planned brightness from exterior to lobby, lounge, and auditorium, ensuring visual comfort and smooth adaptation. Meeting international standards and acoustic demands, the scheme emphasizes spatial brightness, using facade and ceiling lighting to ensure layered effects. Extending the building’s diamond motif, lighting highlights interior features and applies evidence-based design to balance art and technology. Multiple scenarios—entry, pre-show, performance, intermission, and cleaning—enhance the audience experience and provide flexible support for diverse events.
