Entry Description

Located at the heart Mayfair, founded in 1972 Mark's Club is an exclusive private members' club, renowned for its elegant atmosphere, that was extensively refurbished in 2024.

To honor the club's character, the lighting approach was designed to be discreet. Mark's Club, spanning across three floors, each space with its own distinct character.

The lighting design was tailored to complement the unique interiors of each room, from the relaxing Lounge to the Dining Room, and from the revamped Private Dining Rooms to brand new extension, The Greenhouse.
Fixtures were selected to be as unobtrusive as possible, ensuring that the lighting did not overpower the ambiance. By highlighting only key elements such as artwork, lush fabrics, and antiques, the lighting serves as a supportive element that enhances and showcases the interior design.

For this historic and luxury interior, the goal was to enhance the space without compromising its character. Over the course of nearly a year, we worked closely with the club's owner to meticulously review every facet of both architectural and decorative lighting. This partnership ensured a perfect balance between these two elements, culminating in a visually harmonious lighting result.
Sustainability Approach

During the extensive refurbishment, club was fitted with a smart KNX system that controls all lighting and AV, minimising energy consumption.

All LED lighting is dimmed down on set timers that are based on an astronomical clock. In non operational days/hours all lighting is kept as off and if required only specific areas are switched on.
