Entry Description

The project is rooted in a precise conceptual framework: Vastu Shastra.
While this ancestral Indian science places natural light at the heart of spatial design, it offers no guidelines for artificial lighting. It was therefore necessary to listen, interpret, and invent a contemporary response that would remain true to the spirit of the place.

The lighting design was conceived as an invisible architecture: each source is integrated discreetly or in mimicry of natural light, revealing the precision of the volumes and the softness of materials. Far from any dramatic effect, light accompanies the rhythms of the day, the cardinal orientations, and the function of each space. Several decorative fixtures were custom-designed, following a logic of coherence and spatial sequencing. A raw, essential vocabulary, where every detail is carefully composed. Light becomes a tool for breath, calm, and perception; serving an architecture that is quiet and deeply inhabited.

At the heart of the composition, a monumental chandelier of onyx cubes spans the enfilade of the living space. Entirely bespoke, it follows programmed scenarios via SPI technology. Discreet by day, it becomes, at nightfall, a vibrant and magical apparition.
Sustainability Approach

The project integrates a sustainability approach from the architectural design stage, favoring simplicity and thoughtful material choices, such as raw earth in the main corridor. Natural light is optimized through light-colored tones and glass elements integrated into the furniture. All fixtures use high efficiency LED sources, precisely calibrated to reduce energy impact without compromising visual comfort.

Custom elements were produced locally or in Europe, in small series, using durable and repairable components. Their integration respects the architecture and allows for future upgrades and maintenance without demolition. The overall aesthetic is timeless, designed to last and minimize waste.
