Entry DescriptionThe brief was to transform a neglected 19th-century hall into a contemporary family home that seamlessly balances functionality for raising young children with an inviting space for entertaining. The design aimed to preserve the property’s traditional architectural features and timeless style while introducing modern comforts and practicality.
Sustainability ApproachSustainability played a key role in the project, with the client already making significant investments in solar panels, battery storage, and borehole drilling for heat pumps to achieve carbon neutrality. All architectural lighting utilized energy-efficient LEDs and was sourced from B Corp-certified British suppliers like Phos and Light Grafix. These suppliers provided modular fittings, allowing for repairs rather than replacements, ensuring minimal waste and a more sustainable approach to maintenance.
