At Nowhere Bath, the lighting design is carefully crafted to support a tranquil and immersive bathing experience. In the main bathing areas, we use indirect cove lighting that follows the organic curves of the architecture, softly illuminating the space while avoiding any direct lighting above the pools. This creates a calm, soothing atmosphere and enhances the sense of retreat. In the steam and sauna rooms, we use special LED linear fixtures that are specifically rated for high heat and humidity. These are set at a warm 2400K to emphasize the comforting and restorative nature of these spaces. Throughout the entire bathhouse, indirect lighting is prioritized to maintain a soft visual environment. Direct lighting is used only where it serves a clear purpose—such as highlighting spatial forms or guiding movement—so that the architecture remains the focus. The result is a lighting scheme that feels quiet, warm, and deeply relaxing, aligning with the sensory experience of Nowhere Bath.
Sustainability Approach

Sustainability is embedded into the lighting approach through the use of modular lighting systems. Fixtures are designed to allow easy replacement of components like LED engines and drivers, extending the lifespan by retaining the core body. This reduces material waste over time. Additionally, a smart lighting control system is implemented to avoid running fixtures at full capacity. By dimming and scheduling usage based on function and time of day, we not only extend the life of each fitting but also significantly reduce energy consumption—supporting both environmental and operational efficiency.
