Entry Description

Universal Studios Orlando’s Haunt-O-Phonic: A Ghoulish Journey gives guests a front row seat to their fears and frights, inviting them to dance with lights and with the skeletons in their closet.

The lighting design not only enhances each fountain effect but was intentionally crafted to take the lead at pivotal moments in the show, transforming into the centerpiece of the spectacle. For this production, the team utilized the existing Cinesational lighting gear in the lagoon, pushing it beyond its traditional function to create eerie and dynamic atmospheres that transition seamlessly between complementing the fountains and commanding the entire lagoon.
Sustainability Approach

Haunt-O-Phonic reuses the entire lighting rig from Cinesational: A Symphonic Spectacular, with 100% of the equipment repurposed for this production. The lighting gear from Cinesational was originally specified with IP-rated fixtures, allowing the removal of older, less efficient equipment that consumed additional power. No new infrastructure was constructed for the show, ensuring a fully sustainable use of existing resources.
