Entry DescriptionThis daylight installation is a statement about light, nature, and our relationship with time.
This is a self-initiated installation to explore daylight, time, and geometry during the equinox. A 2m circle with dichroic design filters suspended atop the isolated Toconao Dune. It was aligned south-north, guided by the Southern Cross constellation during the starry night of Atacama, to receive the first sunbeams perpendicular to the circle and create shadows and reflections, exploring the effects of our reliable lighting source: the Sun.
Celebrating 10 years of "You Say Light I Think Shadow" this "unplugged" temporary installation worked with the geometry, color-changing reflections, and motion of daylight, following the timing of nature.
Sustainability ApproachZero-energy proposal:
-Color change generation through 180° different angles of the lighting source: the sun.
-Motion of for the organic reflections by the wind.
Ephemeral structures leaving no ecological trace.
The Indigenous community Licanantay allows the installation and give us a thanks ritual to the sun and to thanks our exchange.
Stargaze with the leaders of the community leaders, a cellebration of clean starry sky.
Night-star as a source of information. To alignment for daytime solar precision.
100% recicle. Metal circle, wires and filters will be re-used.
