Entry DescriptionSorry Youth is a Taiwanese rock band. For their debut at Taipei Music Center, the stage design was inspired by their early shared apartment, the “Noise Apartment,” representing their creative origin.
The lighting rig was split into three motorized layers that moved independently, echoing apartment floors. These interacted with dynamic LED screens to create shifting, layered visuals throughout the show.
Traditional side curtains were removed to expose the venue’s raw architectural frame, evoking a lived-in, intimate atmosphere.
Lighting played a central narrative role—using silhouettes, backlight, and strobe accents to reflect the passage of time, musical rhythms, and emotional shifts. Flowing beams moved like tides, transforming the stage into a space of memory and motion.
The design brought the spirit of “Noise Apartment” to life through dynamic, expressive light.
Sustainability ApproachWe used energy-efficient, reusable LED fixtures to reduce power consumption and heat emission without compromising visual impact. To minimize on-site energy use, we utilized lighting visualization software to pre-program effects in a virtual environment, streamlining setup time and reducing carbon output.
By optimizing fixture quantity and placement, we achieved rich visual expression with minimal resource use. Through these actions, we not only reduced the event’s environmental footprint but also demonstrated how stage lighting can be both impactful and sustainable.
