Entry DescriptionThis project, themed “People’s City, Five Stars Shining into the Future”, uses large-scale mapping projection to showcase Shanghai’s urban development and future vision. The design transforms the façade of the Shanghai Exhibition Center into a dynamic visual canvas, integrating iconic landmarks with advanced projection techniques to create a multi-dimensional immersive experience. By combining 2D and 3D projections, the design enhances spatial depth and dynamic rhythm, reflecting both the city’s historical legacy and its digital future. Through light and shadow, the project embodies the spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and internationalism, balancing technology and humanity. Geometric transformations, layered visuals, and synchronized audiovisual language allow audiences to feel the city’s pulse and modernization, presenting a symbolic image of Shanghai’s growth and aspirations.
Sustainability ApproachThe project emphasizes sustainability through the use of energy-efficient LED lighting, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. Projection systems are optimized to maximize energy efficiency while minimizing light pollution and resource waste. Certain equipment and components are designed for reuse or adaptation, extending their lifecycle and lowering environmental impact.
