Entry Description

Xizang Art Museum project transforms the Lhasa Cement Factory into a cultural hub with four zones: principal exhibition hall (Area A), interactive art experience precinct (Area B), artist residence and creative nucleus (Area C), and art market enclave (Area D). Focused on becoming a cultural and artistic center in Tibet, the project innovates through comprehensive lighting strategies. Ambient illumination coordinates with the nocturnal urban landscape, emphasizing Tibetan, industrial, and artistic features. Regional ethos is highlighted with 4000K white light reflecting the Tibetan Plateau, complemented by red accents resonating with cultural motifs. The core architectural concept is emphasized with warm white light at 3000K in key areas, paying homage to industrial heritage through selective red illumination.
Sustainability Approach

Xizang Art Museum implements a green design philosophy by comprehensively assessing location conditions and setting appropriate general lighting indicators to avoid overdesign, thereby achieving environmental sustainability goals for the lighting system. LED light fixtures are employed in the project due to their high efficiency, long lifespan, and low energy consumption, resulting in significant reductions in energy consumption. All fixtures undergo high-altitude low-temperature performance testing to ensure normal operation in high-altitude areas, thus reducing overall operational and maintenance costs. Each fixture is required to meet a minimum luminous efficiency of 80lm/W for LED product lighting systems.
