Entry Description
NYX takes its name from the Greek goddess of the night and is tucked away within GAIA restaurant in Mayfair, London. With elegant wing and feather motifs adorning the bar and an eye-catching lighting display, this private lounge seamlessly transforms into a sophisticated late-night club. The space exudes luxury through its rich colors, textures, and refined finishes. Dynamic lighting enhances the ambiance, adjusting to the music when the DJ takes over, creating an immersive experience.
Designing a club in a compact space brought unique spatial challenges, but the clever integration of lighting as a key design feature allowed for a fluid transition between a luxury lounge and a vibrant nightclub. Lighting beneath the marble bar and dynamic pixel LEDs add depth and intrigue. Soft finishes not only enhance the sense of luxury but also provide acoustic insulation. Programming thousands of DMX addresses in the Madrix lighting system was a complex task, but crucial in shaping the atmosphere.
NYX is an intimate and inviting space, rich in detail and texture. From the small brass domed lights on the ceiling to the custom convex mirror light discs on the walls, every element is thoughtfully designed. The dynamic lighting control system sets the perfect mood, overcoming the spatial and lighting challenges to fully embody the spirit of the goddess of the night.
Sustainability ApproachAt the heart of our lighting design for this project is a focus on minimising environmental impact while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
A key element of our sustainability strategy is the careful selection of fixtures from trusted manufacturers, such as Light Graphix and Orluna, embracing the circular economy to reduce waste by using materials that can be recycled or repurposed.
We offer take-back programs to refurbish or recycle old components, extending product lifecycles and reducing waste. The lighting system uses 100% LED technology, known for energy efficiency, long life, and minimal heat output. Smart controls allow flexible lighting adjustments based on occupancy, enhancing ambiance and saving energy.
With end-of-life considerations, all products are chosen for easy recycling or reuse. Our approach blends sustainability with stunning, responsible design.
