Entry Description

The Healing Space, located within an urban cancer center, is an interactive room designed to provide a serene and restorative environment for patients and their loved ones. The technology systems, featuring a built-in 4K LED video wall, spatial sound, and full-color-changing, energy-efficient LED lighting with DMX controls, are synchronized to work together.

Visitors use an intuitive iPAD user interface to select from a menu of nature-oriented audio/video preset scenes that create a variety of calming, multi-sensory, fully immersive experiences. The specific light colors and brightness levels are meticulously calibrated to harmonize with the various nature scenes displayed on the video wall.

Concealing most of the lighting within a series of curving coves and perimeter slots emphasizes the oval shape of the room and produces soft, glare-free, reflected light that washes over the visitor, further enhancing the overall sensory experience.
