Entry Description

The lighting concept aims to make light inconspicuous while emphasizing the architecture of the hall and display cases. The interior lighting of the showcases is carefully designed to eliminate sharp shadows and evenly flood the cases with light. Delicate accent lighting around the objects highlights the metals and stones, making the details visible. The exhibition features a combination of lighting solutions that enhance the visual impact of the exhibits without overpowering them. By using subtle nuances and careful placement of luminaires, the lighting design enhances a sense of the scale of gold arches and silver walls allowing the architecture and artifacts to take center stage. The chosen lighting techniques highlight the shape and volume of the showcases, while also making the precious metals and stones gleam.
Overall, the "Russian Phoenix. Suzdal land" exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the history of Suzdal lands through a collection of well-preserved and significant artifacts. The thoughtful lighting design enriches the overall experience by enhancing the architectural beauty of the exhibition space and illuminating the exhibits in a way that reveals their intricate details. Caustic light reflections on the ceiling vaults create a delicate pattern that refers to the wings of the magical phoenix bird that gave the exhibition its name.
Sustainability Approach

New equipment was purchased for the project specifically for the exhibition, as the exhibition is timed to coincide with the 1000th anniversary of the city of Suzdal. When completing the equipment park for the museum the team took into account its flexibility in multiple subsequent uses in future exhibitions (suitable color temperature 3000K, zooming capability - angle adjustment from 5 deg). We also took into account such parameters as low power consumption and low-voltage (2 W one luminaire) of the showcase equipment to save energy resources. It should be noted that the manufacturer of lighting fixtures is a local company.
