Entry Description

Crest is an overhead ceiling light designed for small, cozy spaces. Looking up at it, the design is minimalist yet comforting, with a cylindrical shade that shimmers like the ocean’s surface. From the center hangs a glass ball of light, held suspended within a droplet-shaped aluminum housing. Looking closer, between the outer glass shell and the lightbulb itself encapsulates a pool of real liquid, swirling around and catching the light.

But within all of this is a feature unlike any other chandelier. With a push up on the bottom of the light, the entire light fixture begins to shift and move. Utilizing the hidden pulley system, as the light moves up, the shade falls down to meet it, and as it does, it scatters caustic rays reminiscent of those found on the ocean floor scattering across the walls and ceiling of a room, filling the room with a calming ambiance.

To return to a regular ambient light, simply pull down upon the handle integrated into the aluminum teardrop, and the hidden pulley system will once again morph the light. The light source pulls away from the shade as the caustic patterns drift upwards to return later once more.
