Entry Description

Lean Luminate blends into an office setting and transforms seamlessly between task lighting and ambient lighting with a perfectly weighted tilt feature. The tilt feature also allows the user move the lamp out of their way and tilt it to have perfect lighting. Since the lamp has a ball and socket joint, the light can be adjusted freely after it has been tilted. The light has a potentiometer to give the user a dimming feature to get their desired lighting level. The cone shapes that make up the base and shade look like almost identical shapes that make the tilting feature feel like magic. The base cone is stable with small cylinder protrusions to keep the conic base from rolling around.
Sustainability Approach

My lighting project uses LEDs as its light source. LEDs are far more efficient than traditional lighting methods, converting more electrical energy into light than regular LEDs. They do not waste much energy in the form of heat. LEDs also have a much longer lifespan than traditional incandescent lights. The specific LED ring I have in my light has a lifespan of 2 years of continuous usage.
