Entry Description

Lumin is an ultra-compact desk lamp that offers improved functionality and maximum space utilization. Unlike traditional desk lamps with large, bulky bases and location limiting clamps, LUMIN can be placed anywhere on a desk top thanks to its counterweight and adhesive system. The lamp’s articulating design offers the ultimate in user customization based on the task at hand. The lamp can extend to a max 36” when straight up or extend 24” out in any direction from the base. When combined with its 11” diffused LED array, LUMIN provides ample light across the work surface. Users can adjust the light’s brightness and temperature to fit individual needs and preferences. The controls for the lights are built into the base of the lamp but can be taken off and used as a wireless remote for changing settings conveniently. When work is done, users can fold LUMIN neatly away, reducing its size to 1.5” x 4” x 12”. LUMIN’s space-conscience design meets the need for a lamp that doesn’t interfere with a busy work surface, especially for tasks or projects that require large work areas. With its compact storage, LUMIN also helps users easily transition smaller or multi-functioning workspaces for a different purpose, such as a remote worker whose desk turns dining table by the end of the day. LUMIN is the versatile and functional solution to the demands of today’s working environments.

Sustainability Approach

LUMIN features helpful sustainability features including power-saving LEDs to reduce electricity usage without sacrificing bright, diffused task lighting. The need for single-use batteries is eliminated thanks to the lamp’s remote rechargeable battery. LUMIN is constructed from aluminum, a recyclable metal with a high energy return rate, to help lower CO2 emission during the manufacturing process while still having a solid construction.
