Entry DescriptionLine is an imaginative lighting system that empowers users to create their own lightscapes, inspired by the playful nature of pop tubes. Acting as an intuitive affordance, the adjustable tube invites users to stretch, compress, and bend the light into any shape, indicating how it can be manipulated just like a pop tube. This playful interaction turns Line into more than just a light source; it’s a dynamic "line" that adapts to your space and lifestyle.
Wall-mounted hooks allow for endless, personalized light formations, while three distinct lamp shades cater to various moods and uses. The challenge was balancing flexibility with durability, solved by using high-quality, resilient materials. Line is environmentally conscious, featuring energy-efficient LEDs and sustainable components, making it an eco-friendly choice. By incorporating pop tube-inspired design, Line encourages creativity, offering a light that’s not just functional but fun to interact with.
Sustainability ApproachThe Line Lighting Set embraces sustainability with a circular design approach. Crafted from recycled polypropylene pop tubes, it reduces reliance on virgin plastics. Durable plastic and wood parts ensure longevity, minimizing the need for replacements. Its 12V LED technology offers energy efficiency, supporting climate action through reduced power consumption. The design is easily disassembled and flat-packed, lowering transportation emissions and facilitating recycling. Modular components allow for part replacement and reconfiguration, aligning with circular economy principles. By integrating sustainable materials, energy-efficient technology, and a versatile design, the Line Lighting Set offers an eco-friendly solution that promotes responsible consumption and minimizes its environmental footprint from production to end-of-life.
