Entry Description

Re: Overture is an analog lamp equipped with two sets of polarizer lenses that optically darken the light as you rotate the dial. Supporting the lenses is a geometric array of reclaimed sheet aluminum. The aluminum, together with the polarizer lenses, form a minimal, architectural composition. This raw, physical communication between the user and the material is how Re: Overture translates regenerative manufacturing into a simple, elegant language.
Sustainability Approach

Re: Overture promotes the critical demand of regenerative manufacturing by converting it into an intimate home experience. Re: Overture partnered with local EV manufacturers in China to consistently reclaim large scrap pieces of sheet metal in the same shapes and compose them into new functional structures. The base of the lamp is made of recycled aluminum, composed of shredded aluminum scraps of the material waste from local EV manufacturers. Claiming sheet aluminum from EV manufacturers not only helps them create more value from their waste but also reduces the energy used during Re: Overture's manufacturing.
