Project Description:
Designed by Canadian glass artist, Eva Milinkovic, through Soffi Lighting, PEARL mimics the natural opalescent beauty of the jewels from the ocean. The organic design utilizes the philosophy of composition and scale through multiples, comprising of individual hand blown glass forms and arranged on a black walnut and patinated metal canopy for a bespoke lighting installation. The PEARL are intended as interior jewelry and impart a feeling of elegance and luxury to any interior transcending time and lending itself to both contemporary and traditional environments.
Soffi's design philosophy emphasizes the organic nature of blown glass with its own blend of unique colours and tactile finishes, with the premise of creating scale through multiples. Soffi's goal is to bring art into the realm of daily life.
Crafted by the crew at Soffi Lighting, each Pearl is a unique work of art that combines the beauty of nature with the brilliance of hand blown glass.
Company DescriptionSoffi creates sculptural lighting with the focus on fine metalwork and hand blown glass. Each fixture is made by hand by a crew of skilled craftspeople and designers in our Windsor, Canada studio. Like interior jewellery, our goal is to bring artwork to the realm of daily life.
The word Soffi comes from the Italian glassblowing tool, Soffietta, and is derived from the Italian verb soffiare, which means to blow or puff. The name Soffi embodies the very soul of the glass blowing process—the breath of the craftsperson. It is this human touch that goes into everything we produce.
