Entry DescriptionCuplight is a pendant lighting fixture that pours out ambiance and acoustic comfort in every room. Much like a fine cup of coffee, Cuplight is designed to offer a perfectly balanced blend of form, function, and material innovation, reimagining spatial illumination with a touch of warmth and creativity.
Surrounding the cone is a light ring, set at a 45-degree angle, designed to cast light onto the cone’s surface rather than directly into the room. This ingenious lighting strategy transforms the “cup” into a glowing surface. The goal is to create an illuminated form that indirectly brightens the surrounding area, establishing a sense of spaciousness and tranquillity. This indirect lighting method fosters a warm, welcoming atmosphere, perfect for settings where a gentle, ambient light is preferred, whether in a cosy dining area, a relaxed lounge, or a stylish conference room.
To further enhance its versatility, Cuplight also features a downward-directed spotlight, ensuring that even in spaces with high ceilings, the lighting remains perfectly balanced. This addition makes Cuplight not just an ambient light source but also a functional piece capable of providing focused illumination where needed, much like how a shot of espresso adds that extra boost to your favourite brew.
Sustainability ApproachCuplight's core structure is designed to maximise material efficiency. The use of acoustic felt not only adds to the functional value by improving sound absorption, but it also allows for a lighter, more streamlined design.
The fixture can be used in a variety of settings, from residential to commercial spaces, and its modular design allows for easy integration with existing interior elements. This flexibility reduces the need for additional fixtures, thus minimising resource use.
Cuplight has been designed with disassembly in mind. This allows for easier recycling or repurposing of its components, particularly the metal parts and the acoustic felt, which can be recycled or reused in other applications. This approach minimises waste and encourages a circular economy mindset, even for products that are not inherently sustainable.
