Entry DescriptionSerralves in Light takes place at the Serralves Foundation, located in the Serralves Park in the city of Porto, Portugal.
Transforming the Serralves Park into an impacting light exhibition, providing the nocturnal enjoyment of this magnificent space through a surprising experience along a 3km route that runs through the entire Park.
Based on pillars such as sustainability, innovation, creativity, environment and freedom and with the artistic direction of Nuno Maya in conjunction with the Serralves team, the 3 km route explores the magic of light based on interactivity, video mapping, LEDs and visual effects.
With light designs created specifically for the Serralves Park, a visual narrative is created where the natural elements of the Park create a distinctive nocturnal enjoyment experience.
Sustainability ApproachOur mission is to deliver spectacles which combine style, artist creativity and culture while respecting sustainability. Ocubo’s core value is Humanity, reflected through diverse preoccupations such as globalization, time and space.
As a studio, every project we work on is different, the reason why our sustainable approach is tailored to each specific situation. So, instead of providing a rigid set of rules, we provide clear guiding principles that support our planning and decisions.
We turn off all lighting and electronic equipment when not in use, and have a strict policy for switching off and unplugging overnight.
We ask local municipalities for the outdoor lightning to be switched off.
We use an energy source of low consumption to light people and space LEDs - and then we add projectors with high energy efficiency so we can project on large surfaces with low energy consumption.
