Entry Description

The installation "Soul" for Kyiv Design Week reflects the creative energy of the Ukrainian people—alive, imaginative, and formative. Through light effects, which resemble immaterial paints, I aimed to convey the subtle experiences of the artist during the creative process, which will later transform into a masterpiece.

For us, it is important, aside from beauty, to convey a significant social message through our work and creativity. Choosing St. Nicholas Cathedral for the installation after the fire holds not only aesthetic and cultural value but also deep symbolic meaning. It aims to raise awareness about the importance of preserving historical monuments and supporting their restoration.

The facade of the cathedral was selected for lighting during the Kyiv Design Week due to its unique architecture, which harmoniously combines historical significance with aesthetic expressiveness. The building is one of the most recognizable examples of Neo-Gothic style in Ukraine, highlighting the interplay between traditions and contemporary design solutions.

Specifically for this installation, a unique auditory accompaniment was created, symbolizing high, immaterial thoughts, dreams, prayers, and aspirations that then transform into a work of art.
