Entry DescriptionIn the design of the 2024 Taoyuan Lantern Festival, " Sparkling Taoyuan," we utilize various colors of lights and lasers to showcase the integration of Taoyuan's diverse cultures and the city's tourism characteristics. The performance begins with the awakening of a divine dragon symbolizing the start of the Year of the Dragon, using intersecting lights and lasers to create a scene of the dragon wandering among the clouds. Green light beams symbolize the exhibition area of the Taoyuan Lantern Festival—the Nanchang Forest Sports Park, while the flickering red, blue, and white lights symbolize Taoyuan's military dependents' village culture and the iconic landmark—the Flag House. Dynamic arc-shaped beams interpret the rise of the Taoyuan Aerotropolis. At the end of the performance, the dragon is guided back to the main venue of Nanchang Forest Sports Park through lasers, and a variety of beams converge in the sky, resembling an airport runway, symbolizing Taoyuan's gesture as a gateway to the world, aligning with the international community.
Sustainability ApproachIn the design of this light show, a large number of moving lights and laser lights are used instead of traditional main lanterns. This innovative form of light show eliminates the various disposable materials used for traditional main lanterns, avoids waste disposal after the lantern festival, and breaks the fixed form of traditional lanterns. With reusable lighting fixtures and structures, we aim for environmental sustainability, showcasing our social responsibility and allowing all audiences to see a new form of lantern festival performance.
