Entry Description

The lighting design for the resort hotel on Flores Island draws inspiration from the intricate patterns of the traditional Lingko fields, weaving the rich cultural heritage of the Manggarai people into a luxurious, immersive experience. The journey to the sea villas is transformed into an enchanting pathway with bespoke lighting solutions that subtly guide guests while celebrating the architecture and natural beauty of the island. Columns are thoughtfully illuminated, casting soft, ambient light that accentuates their form and the surrounding textures, while linear indirect lighting runs along the roofline, creating a mesmerizing floating effect that adds a touch of ethereal elegance to the structure.

This lighting approach not only enhances the architectural language but also creates a sense of serenity and connection to the cultural landscape. The design seamlessly blends modern luxury with the island's traditional aesthetic, offering guests a unique and memorable experience that honors both the natural environment and the Manggarai cultural legacy.
Sustainability Approach

The sustainable lighting design for Labuan Bajo emphasizes eco-friendly practices that align with the natural beauty of Flores Island. By choosing modular lighting products, the design ensures that components can be easily recycled, reducing environmental impact.
LED technology, known for its low power consumption and high energy efficiency, is utilized throughout, minimizing energy use while delivering superior illumination.

A Lighting control system is also integrated in all public areas, such as lobby, all day dining, Gym, allowing for flexible and customizable lighting ambiance while optimizing energy savings. This system includes dimming, occupancy sensors, and automated scheduling to ensure lighting is used efficiently.
This approach creates a sustainable and adaptable lighting solution that respects both the environment and the needs of the space
