Entry DescriptionThe Grand Gaming Club is a premium lounge situated in one of Manila’s famous integrated resorts. The lighting objective is simple yet succinct. To render interior finishes in the best light and to make people look good and feel comfortable in the space. The interior palette veered toward contemporary dark yet elegant finishing. We used mid- power glareless downlights directed and controlled towards showcase, special materials, and dining tables.
The space houses a dining area, lounge, and meeting rooms but the layout is open thus the lighting had to address the three different functions in an open space without it feeling segmented or having harsh contrast for transition areas. For this we applied DALI dimmable 2700 Kelvin for the general lighting and highlights of 3000 Kelvin for showcase. Narrow beam downlights shines on the food and dining tables to create a vibrant experience. Careful detailing, proper setting out was required for millwork that had reflective white surfaces so the source would not cause unwanted reflections yet still illuminate displays beautifully. The downlights used for display was carefully selected not to cause glare since the display shelves were floor to ceiling height. High color rendition with a medium beam angle gave the proper punch to the artwork and sculptures.
