Entry DescriptionTime Hill is a legal cremation and memorial center dedicated to pet end-of-life services. Here, pet owners can privately bid farewell to their beloved pets without outside disturbances.
The lighting design, focused on the themes of "life" and "wholeness," integrates architecture, interiors, and landscapes. By utilizing the building's unique structure and materials, light is used to convey a solemn and warm atmosphere, particularly at night.
Architectural lighting highlights the triangular farewell hall's rooftop, creating a distinctive feature in the rural night sky while enhancing the building's sanctity. The rest of the façade is illuminated with floodlighting, balancing the contrast between interior and exterior brightness to achieve harmony and aesthetic appeal.
For interiors, the designers tailored the lighting to the function and form of each space, selecting specific color temperatures for certain fixtures. The lighting designs and techniques resonate with the concepts of "life" and "wholeness," using color, shape, brightness, and rhythm to evoke emotions and memories.
The lighting at Time Hill is designed to create a meaningful emotional experience, reminding us that while life is fleeting, memories can endure.
Sustainability ApproachConsidering the geographical location and weather factors of the project, minimal lighting is used for both architectural and landscape lighting to create the overall ambiance, minimizing the impact on the rural natural environment and the lives of nearby residents.
For interior lighting, natural light is emulated and integrated to harmonize perfectly with the architecture and surrounding landscape.
