Entry DescriptionSt Leo is located in one of the old charismatic original buildings in the otherwise new vibrant neighborhood North Habour in Copenhagen.
The multi purpose building houses an array of activities from show room, art gallery, offices and a cozy café.
The lighting therefore had to be designed to meet the high-end tonality of the brand while catering for a dynamic space with multiple activities throughout the day.
Due to the nature of the building all lamps and solutions were designed bespoke and planned specifically for the space. No standard lighting was used.
In the office spaces daylight was limited so a tunable light system was designed for the indirect lighting in the ceiling of the office space. Accent lighting was provided with browned brass spots designed for the space.
Subtle lighting from bespoke wall lamps leads guest up the stairs to a small café at the first level.
Here an art gallery space opens up and the industrial space with columns allow for a scenic lighting of the art.
At the first floor St Leo’s experience showroom of colour, plaster and pigments folds out.
All the lighting welcoming warm feel to the entire space while also ensuring a perfect rendition of the colour and texture boards.
Using wireless control the lighting can be changed through colour temperatures to experience the pigments in different light in the darker seasons.
Sustainability ApproachAll lighting was designed to balance aesthetics and energy efficiency.
To make a homey feel of the St Leo space areas of temporary use where dimmed to lower levels than typically found in showrooms and office space.
While using dimming across the entire system allowed for setting light levels to deliver required lighting only when needed.
The lamps where all designed and developed with longevity in mind so components could be replaced if required.
