Entry DescriptionThe Mines of Luise
A corridor connects an underground parking garage with the associated hotel. This is the Hotel Luisenhöhe in the beautiful Black Forest. The surrounding landscape is characterized by forests and meadows. The hotel was designed by architects Geis & Brantner to nestle into the topography of the mountainside. Visitors enter the hotel by driving their vehicle into the underground parking garage. This is where their vacation experience begins. In the underground garage, a door opens into a subterranean tunnel that looks as if it has been carved into the rock of the Black Forest. Bizarre exposed concrete walls rise upwards and at one point offer a view of the sky. The lighting concept picks up on the impressive scenery and reinforces it with luminous contours.
Company DescriptionTobias Link lighting design studio has been in business since 1991. We, Tobias and Oliver Link, are the faces behind it. With every new project we rely on what sets a good lighting designer apart – our many years of experience in the profession. We plan carefully to budget in line with the scale of building and with energy efficiency in mind, as we always keep up with new developments in technology. Thus the architect also benefits from our comprehensive, in-depth knowledge, which is also something that sets us apart from other specialist planners.
