Entry DescriptionWater reflection was adopted as the lighting design inspiration in this project to honor the modern prosperity by embracing mountain and river.
At night, the lighting design reveals the characteristics of the building. Blending with the surrounding nature like mountains and rivers, this hotel becomes a comfortable habitat for an urban forest life experience. Under the lights, it stands quietly among the mountains and rivers with an overlook. With a close look, the building and its water reflection blend together among the ripples of the water.
Downlights (10W, 3000K, 60°) are installed deep down in the tree-shaped columns at the entrance, which produce the ambient light from within. Their ceiling lighting design is inspired by the forest, with small fixtures (3W, 3000K) to illuminate the roof indirectly. Charming and changeable light beams penetrate between the "leaves" .
The building, representing mountains in the design, presents a sense of volume and order. To avoid the spill lights affecting guest rooms, the fixtures (15°X 65°) are recessed into the curtain wall structure. The light and shadow vary with height changes rhythm of the building. From the sunken hall to the stepped garden terrace, it creates a lighting experience of urban forest life. At night under the warm light, you can find a unique inner peace and a pleasant way home.
Sustainability ApproachHigh-efficient lighting fixtures are used with the lighting control system. LPD of the facade lighting is only 1W/M², far lower than the Chinese Green Standard of 3.3W/M². Indirect light, water reflection and interior light penetrating through the facade are adopted to display the night view of the architecture, to reduce the light pollution and to protect the black sky.
