Entry Description

I. Project Background
The project serves as a community public space, providing a place for socializing and interaction within the entire community. The project's main challenge lies in its location in an underground space, which results in poor natural lighting and relatively deep interior spaces.
Ii. Concept
a.Improving the Disadvantages - Introducing SUNSHINE
The design incorporates a courtyard, creating a unique fifth facade within the interior space in conjunction with the ground-level landscape. This allows for the entry of natural light into the interior, addressing the issue of insufficient lighting. Upon entering from the reception area, there is a water courtyard designed before entering the main space. This arrangement establishes a spatial rhythm of anticipation and restraint between the lightwell and the reception area, creating a distinct contrast of light and shadow despite being separated by a wall.
b.Enhancing Advantages - Fluid Space
The maximization of windows allows for ample natural light while dividing the social territory through the scenic views provided by the window panes. The exhibition area features a wavy-shaped suspended ceiling, accentuated by lighting strips that highlight the design structure. Artistic installation lights resembling stars are incorporated to create a dynamic and artistic atmosphere in the space.
Sustainability Approach

The main challenge faced by this project is its location in an underground space, resulting in poor natural lighting and deep interior spaces. By incorporating a courtyard design that integrates with the ground-level landscape, a unique fifth facade is created within the interior space. This design approach allows for the entry of natural light, effectively addressing the issue of insufficient lighting in the interior. Natural light provides a more natural, even, and comfortable illumination, reducing the reliance on artificial lighting and lowering the building's energy consumption and carbon footprint.
